Keep Your Landline for Emergencies

With so many people using cell phones these days more and more households are getting rid of their landline phones altogether. However, it's still a good idea to keep one around for emergencies and power outages. Choose a phone with a good old fashioned cord (cordless phones are useless during power outages). Prefer cordless? Stash a corded phone somewhere in your home so you at least have one handy if you need it. It's better to be prepared then to be without.

  1. You may want to tell people "why" it is good to have at least a basic land line for emergencies. Most people do not understand the operations abilities of all the telecommunications vendors and why some kinds of phone will fail at times of emergencies or overuse in an area.
